Job Title: Youth
Discipleship Director
General Requirements
:
A. Experience
While
the requirements are flexible, a priority will be given to candidates who show
involvement in a strong youth discipleship experience/or in leadership and
implementation of youth programming.
Ideal candidate, if married, would have support and involvement of a
spouse in the ministry.
B. Relational
This
position requires a love for and commitment to students from 6th grade through
college. There must be a desire to create a team of adults who will be the
primary disciple makers of High School and Middle school students. This team of
primary disciples of the YDD will be encouraged to keep in contact with youth through phone
calls, visiting the youth during lunch period, attending middle school and high
school functions, athletic events, musicals, pep rallies, and meeting students
after school or on weekends. The YDD would pursue relationships with parents
for the purpose of fostering respect toward parents and in opening lines of
communication to aid in the discipleship process.
C. Communication
1.
It is essential that the director have the ability to be comfortable teaching
Scripture, and presenting the gospel clearly.
He or she would challenge students to further develop their relationship
with God through Jesus Christ. It requires leading Bible studies and small
groups, and speaking at youth events. The position also requires ease in
communicating with parents and discussing particular concerns and needs of each
student.

The position requires close communication with the Youth Advisory Committee
(made up of 1-2
elders and 2-3 parents and/ or 1 or 2 mature youth)

The YDD would lead a Discipleship Group (a group/team
of adult leaders who are being trained to lead small groups of students)
4.
This person would have an accountability partner and/or be in a small group
C. Administrative
The
position requires the ability to maintain simultaneous control of contact work,
weekly/monthly programming and several special projects. It also involves
church responsibilities, such as attending staff meetings, Grace Network
conferences, and meeting periodically with both the youth advisory committee
and the youth support committee.
D. Creative
This
position requires continually developing new ideas of effectively ministering
to junior high, senior high, and college students/young adults. The young adults discipled
by the YDD will ideally become small group leaders and coordinate action teams,
and build relationships with students.
The YDD would seek to help young people discover their gifts and how
they fit into the body as a whole at CCC.
E. Self-motivated
This
position requires an individual who is disciplined in time-utilization. Since
the job demands extreme output, it is essential for continual input through
personal devotion. Furthermore, the job involves a person to be comfortable
initiating relationships with students and families.
F. Worship
The ability to facilitate praise and worship through arts and media. Maintaining the website or
acquiring a webmaster for it.

Seek out and maintain an accountability relationship.

Recruit and equip volunteers for effective ministry.

Oversee the youth ministry within each CCC congregation and celebration
service, and regular youth meetings

Plan monthly or bi-monthly CCC multi-congregational youth meeting, and plan
retreats as well as determining the feasibility of an annual large-scale youth
event at CCC.
6.
Purchase and utilize a measurable discipleship curriculum.

Organize and plan outreach strategy to un-reached youth in

Plan and lead Youth Support Committee meetings.
9.
Work with the mission committee to coordinate youth involvement in mission
trips.
10.
Plan and encourage youth opportunities to serve the church body and the larger
community.
