Geoff Maurer - Associate
Pastor
Geoff came to the University of Virginia in 1996 for his B.A.
He graduated four years later with much more: an incredible wife Kelly,
the sweet and renewing experience of discipleship, and a call to vocational
ministry. After serving for two more years at UVA with InterVarsity
Christian Fellowship, the Maurers headed New England for seminary.
In 2005 Geoffrey graduated from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary
with his Master of Divinity. They stayed in Massachusetts four more
years as Geoffrey served at Covenant Christian Academy as the Dean
of the Upper School, along with some teaching, coaching, and chaplain
responsibilities. In 2009, the Maurers felt drawn back to Charlottesville
to come alongside the planting of another Grace Network church, Rivanna
Community Church in northern Albemarle. For these two years, Geoffrey
taught at The Covenant School in Charlottesville, and served as a
chaplain and coach. The Maurers have two young sons, William and Daniel.

Tom White - Family
Life Pastor
Tom has been a Charlottesville resident his entire life, and long-time member of Christ Community. He loves this town and is deeply committed to seeing the Kingdom flourish here. He has had an abiding love for children and youth, one that God kindled through his time in education, sales, real estate, and coaching. Now God is using Tom's diverse background and work experience in ways that help him love our community well in his current role as Family Pastor. Tom is married to Amy, his high school sweetheart, and they have three children: Will, Mallory, and Carter. He relaxes with humor, cooking, sports, and people (and people, and people).

Christ Community
Elders
|
|
At Christ Community Church,
leadership is vested in a plurality of elders who give spiritual
oversight to the church. In that structure, we recognize the Lead
Elder/Pastor as the leader selected by God with ultimate responsiblity
for the institution.
